Canada, get ready for new banknotes. (All these money posts have made me check out Wikipedia.) They’re called the “Frontier Series” and they are made of polymer. They have a translucent maple leaf and a transparent window. So, in short, it would be really bloody difficult to counterfeit these things.
The $100 was issued this month (November), with the $50 to be issued in March of 2012. The $5-$20 denominations will be put into circulation by late 2013.
